In early March of 2020, one of Sysco Foods’ facilities was impacted by a major tornado which touched down in Nashville, TN and the surrounding area. Sysco Foods called Williams Company, a long-term trusted Design-Build partner, to assess damage to the 158,000 SF cold storage warehouse. Our analysis found that the building incurred significant wind pressure damage which resulted in a collapse of the freezer portion of the structure. In addition, the exterior skin on both cooler and freezer were found to be heavily compromised. Through careful planning and coordination, Williams Company fast-tracked all facets of design, permitting, cost control, and construction to facilitate a 10-month build schedule from demolition of the compromised structure to project completion!
