Williams Company Honors History & Legacy at Stetson University

Williams Company recently celebrated the ribbon cutting of Hulley Tower at Stetson University—marking a meaningful milestone in the restoration of one of the campus’s most historic landmarks.

Symbolizing remembrance, resilience, and rebirth, Hulley Tower has been a cornerstone of Stetson’s campus since its original construction in 1934. After sustaining significant hurricane damage in 2004, the structure was dismantled, leaving only its base intact—now serving as the mausoleum for Stetson’s second President, Lincoln Hulley, and his wife, Eloise. In the years that followed, an alumni-led effort—motivated in part by the memory of the 1979 Innsbruck avalanche that claimed the lives of Scotty, Katy, and Dennis—helped bring new life to the tower, reinforcing its role as a place of remembrance.

Nearly two decades later, Williams Company is proud to have reconstructed Hulley Tower to its original 116-foot height. Today, Hulley stands once again as a symbol of reflection, further strengthened by a Memorial Plaque honoring Stetson students who have passed away since the University’s founding in 1883.

The project not only revived a cherished piece of campus history, but elevated it—both literally and symbolically—with the addition of a new 52-bell carillon. We’re honored to have a bell included in this collection—cast at the renowned Grassmayr Bell Foundry—helping bring a powerful, lasting voice to campus tradition.

We are proud to have partnered with Stetson University on this meaningful restoration—preserving history while ensuring Hulley Tower’s legacy endures for generations to come.
