SYSCO Central Texas Expansion

SYSCO Corporation

  • Project Size: 290,000 sqft

  • Project Location: Schertz, TX

  • Project Architect: Leo A Daly

The Sysco Central Texas Distribution Center (CTX) is the #1 Sysco facility in the nation! Williams Company provided design-build services with Leo A Daly on the 290,000 square foot expansion to the existing 600,000 square foot facility. The addition was built in four phases, with additions to four sides of the building. The facility includes 45 degree cold docks, -10 degree freezer, dry docks, dry warehouse storage, a battery charging station, and truck parking.

Due to the site’s constraints, we built a 35-foot MSE-style precast retaining wall to make enough room for the building expansion and for trucks to enter and exit the facility.  In addition, we built a new electrical service with 4000 amps x 480 volts or 1,920,000 watts of power to supply the new building addition and allow Sysco to convert all their hydrogen-powered forklifts to batteries.
